The island of Murano in the lagoon of Venice is world-renowned for its kaleidoscopic glassware, which dates back to the 13th century. This extraordinary art form, bursting with colour and sculptural verve, was a natural match for our aesthetic. Pushing the boundaries of this centuries-old tradition, we have created a small series of contemporary glass marble vases, inspired by the form of a bowling ball with three apertures. Each one is a one-off and handblown by a specialist Murano-based glass-maker. Their swirling patterns were also the inspiration behind our AW21 ‘Marble Print’, which echoes the hypnotic beauty of the glass’s blended colours.
